Our Summer Tradition on the Ohio River

Warsaw River Days, also known locally as Riverfest, brings the community of Warsaw, Kentucky together each summer for a vibrant, family friendly celebration of patriotism, local pride, and the scenic beauty of the Ohio River. Held July 3 and 4, 2026, this free event transforms the riverfront park into a lively gathering place filled with the aromas of local food vendors, the sounds of live music, and the excitement of a grand fireworks finale.

As the county seat of Gallatin County, Warsaw has deep roots along the Ohio River. The town, originally laid out in the early 19th century, has long been a hub for river commerce and community life. Since 1982, River Days has carried forward that spirit by creating a modern summertime tradition that celebrates both local heritage and national independence. What began as a simple gathering of neighbors has grown into one of Northern Kentucky's most anticipated riverfront festivals, drawing families from across the region who return year after year for the warm hospitality and spectacular views.

History, Traditions & Community Impact

For more than four decades, Warsaw River Days has been a cornerstone of summer in Gallatin County. The festival emphasizes accessibility, admission is always free, ensuring that every family, regardless of means, can participate in the patriotic festivities. Traditional elements include a wide array of food and craft vendors, live entertainment on the riverfront stage, and the much anticipated fireworks display that lights up the Ohio River skyline.

The event has evolved while staying true to its roots. Early iterations featured fun runs, booth vendors, and community gatherings. Today it continues to support local businesses and organizations through vendor participation and sponsorship opportunities. The City of Warsaw actively promotes vendor registration through its secure online portal, making it easy for food trucks, artisans, and nonprofits to join.

Beyond entertainment, River Days strengthens community bonds and provides a meaningful economic boost to the area. Visitors often combine the festival with exploration of nearby attractions, dining at local restaurants, and overnight stays, benefiting Gallatin County's tourism economy. The riverfront setting offers a picturesque backdrop that highlights why Warsaw and the surrounding Ohio River communities are such special places to live and visit.
