A Patriotic Northern Kentucky Tradition Returns for America's 250th Birthday

On Saturday, July 4, 2026, the City of Fort Thomas invites the entire Northern Kentucky community and visitors from across the Greater Cincinnati region to celebrate Independence Day with pride, pageantry, and patriotism. This year's festivities carry special significance as the nation marks the 250th anniversary of the United States — America 250.

The Fort Thomas Independence Day Celebration is more than a single day of events. It is a living expression of community spirit in one of Northern Kentucky's most historic and scenic cities. From the opening steps of the YMCA Firecracker 5K at 8:00 a.m. through the spectacular fireworks display at 10:00 p.m. over Tower Park, the day is designed for families, veterans, neighbors, and newcomers alike to come together in shared celebration of freedom and local heritage.

As the regional authority for 4th of July celebrations across Northern Kentucky, 4thfest.us is proud to feature Fort Thomas as a cornerstone event in Campbell County. The celebration beautifully complements other standout Independence Day events throughout Kenton and Boone Counties, creating a full weekend of patriotic options for residents and tourists exploring the region.
